Balaga Top Scorers Chart

Season 3 for Balaga and Webz Kennedy well and truly banishes the striker curse which plagued Red Forgartys Tongo career with 11 goals. Philodinho finishes second and may have toped the charts if it were not for the phantom injury he picked up when all was lost for Balaga's season. Tom O'C equaled his best tally for the season with 5 while both Damo and Kev recorded personal bests with 4 and 3 respectively. Shane Deane and some new fella called Steven scored 1 each.

Balaga 2-3 The Astronauts

A good and fair contest to finish the season but like so many other nights for Balaga, at the end, nothing to show for it. The three Eastern European Duracell Bunnies ran the Balaga defense ragged throughout the game, but the defense stood stern. The game was only settled in the last 5 minutes after Balaga went in front early in the first half. A draw was probably a fair result but Kevin B just missed a well worked chance in the final minute to secure that result. Tongo's goals were scored by Damo Kennedy and Tom O'C. Final score 3-2. A treat for the Balaga fans for the last game of the season as former crowd favourite(by crowd i mean Alan T) Bundy made a rare sub appearance.
This turned out to be Balaga's worst season in thier history with only 4 points, and a goal difference of -41. A debate whether to join footie.ie is going to be discussed at the annual AGM which will probably be held on the weekend starting the 25th of April.

Philipo out of final game!!!

After missing last weeks match phil o'd is out of tonight's as well... He consulted a local physiotherapist about the matter and has been instructed not to risk it on Wednesday evening...

an expert digressed:

"Injuries to the AC joint are usually caused by a direct blow to the shoulder. Traumatic contact from the side or from above the shoulder can tear the AC ligaments. Hockey players and football players commonly injure this joint when they make contact with the boards, ground or an opponent with their shoulder striking first. Being dropped on their shoulder by team mates is also a common cause"

Balaga 1- 4 The Strawberries

Well it was a disappointing game for balaga who never really found their feet after a perfect first 30 seconds where striker Damo tapped in from a broderick cross shot...

shortly afterwards goal after goal was conceded due to inept defending from the tongonian players...

Balaga missed Phil O'Ds (injured due to un-specified late night absinthe feuled antics in prague) composure on the ball as some players notabley o callaghan seemed rushed on the ball taking stupid shots and hoofing passes miles beyond their intended target...

The strawberries Kaka seemed to get stuck in everyone, which was funny, also fair play to the fella in the grey t-shirt that tore us to shreads...

No fault to the 6 on the pitch who gave it their all but it just didnt happen, an all to familiar tale in these reports...

With one game to go there is a chance to end with a few more points and a wee smile, and if everyones not skint a few pints or someshite...

Rumours are rife that balaga will quit the astro.ie league for the summer months and join footy.ie, although these rumours are not offcial, even tho i made them up earlier in an email...

Balaga 2 - 8 VanilLa-REAL

3-0 at half time. 8-2 at full time. Balaga played no defense for most of the game and got punished. Webz and Steven scored the goals. Steven, a friend of Shane scored on his debut. Other stand in's for the absent Phil O'D and Tom O'C were Dave and Boyle, both friends of Webz. Depressing match. Balaga cant finish above last position after this result.
